Services & Eligibility

Montana Milestones is administered statewide by the Montana Developmental Disabilities Program. These services are provided at no cost to the family. The families enter the program through the following process:

  • A referral is made by a doctor, hospital, parent, grandparent, daycare provider or anyone else who has concerns about the child's development, with the parent/caregiver's permission.

  • A comprehensive evaluation is completed with the family and child, to assess the child's cognitive, physical, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive areas of development.

  • If there is a 25% delay in two areas, a 50% delay in one area, or a medical diagnosis resulting in the high probability of a development delay, the child may be eligible for early intervention services
